From Vision to Recognition: How Beth Borrego's 2025 River & Expedition Cruise Show Caught the Eye of Cruise Planners Home Office
Published Saturday, September 6th 2025 - Updated Saturday, September 6th 2025On July 26, 2025, the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, Maryland, became the setting for something very close to my (Beth's) heart: the very first River & Expedition Cruise Show. This event wasn’t just a date on the calendar—it was my vision, my passion project, and in many ways, my baby. For months, I nurtured the idea of creating a space where our community could come together, meet our trusted travel partners face to face, and be inspired by the endless possibilities of river and expedition cruising.
Bringing this dream to life took persistence, creativity, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work. From locating four outstanding travel partners to present their cruise lines, to designing the flow of the day, to making sure every detail was just right—I poured myself into it. My husband, Rod Rodriguez, along with our team, Madison Borrego and Miles Borrego, stood beside me, helping make the vision a reality.
When the day arrived, everything came together beautifully. Our guests were treated to a fully catered lunch while they enjoyed engaging presentations from our partners, and the atmosphere buzzed with curiosity and excitement. On top of that, we raised an incredible $1,780.00 for the Alzheimer’s Association through $5 entry fees, our matched donations, and raffle ticket sales of gourmet gift baskets. To see our community come together for travel and for a cause so close to my heart made the day even more meaningful.
The success didn’t end when the doors closed. Photos and video quickly found their way onto social media, and soon the Cruise Planners Home Office took notice. To have my work recognized at that level was humbling, but it also felt like confirmation that the effort and heart I put into this event truly mattered.
And there’s more. Thanks to the ongoing support of our wonderful clients and community, I already have the sales in place to qualify as a Millionaire Producer—official as of January 1, 2026. Even more exciting, when Cruise Planners’ top coaches began developing a special Power Hour episode centered on successful events, Millionaire Coach Tammie Ritchie reached out and invited me to join the panel. On September 10th at 4 PM, I’ll have the honor of sharing my experience, strategies, and lessons learned with fellow advisors nationwide. For me, it’s both humbling and thrilling to be asked to contribute in this way, and I can’t wait to help inspire others to grow.
Looking back, this event started as a dream—an idea I carried with me, shaped, and built piece by piece. To see it come alive, to watch others enjoy and benefit from it, to raise money for a cause that matters, and now to be invited to share that journey on the Power Hour—that is deeply rewarding. And the best part? This is just the beginning. We’re already planning for even bigger and more exciting opportunities in 2026, and I can’t wait to see where the journey takes us next.
Stay tuned—there’s so much more ahead, and I’m excited to share it with you.
