Here are three of the top attractions to visit in Amsterdam:

The Anne Frank House - Located on the Prinsengracht canal, the Anne Frank House is one of the most poignant and powerful museums in Amsterdam. It is the actual house where Anne Frank, a Jewish girl, wrote her famous diary while hiding from the Nazis during World War II. Visitors can explore the secret annex and view haunting exhibits that provide insight into the struggles faced by Anne and her family. The museum serves as a stark reminder of the atrocities of the Holocaust and the human spirit's resilience. Tickets should be purchased directly through the organization, six weeks prior to travel. Tickets sell out fast.

The Van Gogh Museum - Art enthusiasts will find the Van Gogh Museum an absolute must-visit. Situated in the Museumplein, this museum houses the largest collection of works by Vincent van Gogh, one of history's most famous and influential artists. The museum's extensive collection includes over 200 paintings, 500 drawings, and 700 letters by Van Gogh, offering an in-depth look at his life, works, and the evolution of his style. Masterpieces such as "Sunflowers," "The Bedroom," and "Almond Blossom" are on display, providing a mesmerizing experience for visitors. Dining near the Van Gogh Museum is effortless. We recommend Blushing which is locate next to the museum. Not quite as close but equally wonderful is Herengracht Restaurant & Bar and we loved the food there too!

The Rijksmuseum - Also located in the Museumplein, the Rijksmuseum is the Netherlands' national museum of art and history. Its vast collection spans over 800 years of Dutch and global history, with artworks ranging from the medieval period to the 20th century. Highlights include masterpieces by Dutch Golden Age painters such as Rembrandt's "The Night Watch," Vermeer's "The Milkmaid," and works by Frans Hals and Jan Steen. The city's dynamic blend of art, history, and modern culture ensures that there's something for everyone to enjoy.
